COVID-19 UPDATE: 24 Dec 2020

Dear Family and Friends of New Haven Farm Home,

With the ever changing current Covid-19 situation, services such as New Haven Farm Home are receiving updates through a variety of platforms from NSW Health to ensure we are taking all necessary steps to protect the health and wellbeing of our clients and staff.

The below conditions are now in place until 11:59pm 30th December 2020.
We have been advised that each client is now able to have a maximum of 2 visitors at any one time. It is however strongly encouraged that during visits, social distance is maintained, including from other clients and staff. If visiting, please make use of our outdoor spaces and avoid common living areas.

New Haven Farm Home are strongly encouraging all visitors to wear a mask during their visit. Our team of staff are also taking this precaution.

We also ask that you do not visit our site if you have recently been in a hot spot area or should you be experiencing any fever, headaches, cold or Covid-19 related symptoms. I am sure you can appreciate, everyone’s health and safety are our highest priority. If you are unwell we encourage you to self-isolate and seek testing and medical advice. If you have concerns about your visit being detrimental to your health or that of someone else we ask that you please postpone your visit and work with our team to arrange phone and video call connections to ensure you can keep in contact during the festive time.

While there are not currently any time restrictions being placed on visiting, we do ask that you arrange any visits with our team so that we can support you in adhering to these guidelines.

As a requirement of NSW Health, all visitors must sign in on their arrival to our sites. To make this easier for you, New Haven Farm Home have QR codes at each site. If you are unable to use a QR code, please talk to one of our staff members who will be able to help you or provide you with a sign-in sheet.

We also require each visitor has their temperature taken and recorded. Should your temperature be greater than 37.5Oc you will unfortunately not be able to visit.

Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding.

I wish you and your family a happy and safe Christmas.

COVID-19 UPDATE: 21 Dec 2020

Dear Family and Friends of New Haven Farm Home,

With the current spike in Covid-19 cases occurring in NSW it is necessary to ensure we do all we can to limit any potential exposure.

NSW Health have provided the following update to Disability Services that will be reviewed on the 23rd December. This includes:

  • ALL visitors to residential disability care facilities across NSW are excluded unless they meet one of the exemption categories (that is, visitors who are performing essential caring functions or where there are exceptional circumstances)
  • ALL staff and exempted visitors must wear a surgical mask while in a residential disability care facility.

We are aware this may impact your plans to see your family or friend, however, we thank you for your support in helping us to adhere to these guidelines set in place to keep everyone safe and well.

Please be assured that any essential visitors on New Haven Farm Home sites will have their details recorded and their temperature taken and recorded as per our standard practice. Our staff are also recording their temperature upon arrival.

Anyone who feels unwell, has cold like symptoms or symptoms similar to that of covid-19 are not to attend our premises but are advised to attend the nearest testing centre and seek medical advice.

We are encouraging the use of video call and telephone contact to ensure New Haven Farm Home clients can keep in contact and close communication with their family and friends during this time.

Again, thank you for your support, if you have any questions or concerns I encourage you to contact either myself or your Site Manager.

Kind Regards,
Annette

INTRODUCING VICKI

Earlier this year, New Haven Farm Home was very happy to welcome Vicki to our service, who now calls our Bosworth Street site home.

Vicki enjoys art and craft and has made lots of decorations for around her home including flower arrangements, vases and more recently some creative halloween decorations. Colouring in is another of Vicki’s favourite activities.

Along with craft, Vicki has been enjoying cooking meals to share with her housemates. Some of the meals she has prepared include beef burritos, curried sausages and a chocolate cake for afternoon tea.

Vicki enjoys celebrating birthday’s and Christmas and looks forward to Christmas celebrations and decorating her home soon.

Vicki is most confident in quieter spaces but is being supported by her New Haven Farm Home team to become more confident when out in the community, especially in shopping centres where there can be many more people.

It has been wonderful to have Vicki join us at New Haven Farm Home and we look forward to sharing her many activities and achievements with you over the coming months.
