Disability Support Worker

We’re seeking Disability Support Workers to join the New Haven Farm Home Team on a Casual Basis. New Haven Farm Home is an accommodation and lifestyle support service that supports people living with a disability. The role of the Disability Support Worker is to assist our clients with everyday lifestyle choices and activities. This could include cooking, cleaning, socialising, therapies, personal care/hygiene. 

Flexibility is key and vital to being successful in this position. We operate 27/4 and our shifts are as follows: 

  1. Day Shift 6.30am-3.30pm – mainly required over the weekends (Fri-Sun)
  2. Afternoon shift 3.15pm -11.15pm shifts need filling most days and;
  3. Overnight shift 11pm-7am shifts need filling most days. 

We also have some support shifts of 4 hours that require filling from time to time. 

The main responsibilities of this position are: 

  • Driving the clients to activities or appointments. 
  • Assisting the clients with grocery shopping and banking. 
  • Assisting the clients with cooking and cleaning and general house maintenance. 
  • Assisting the clients with personal care such a showering, toileting and sometimes dressing. 
  • Assisting the clients with their medications.
  • Supporting the clients with behaviours. 
  • Spending meaningful time with the clients completing meaningful activities that are going to improve on their individual skills. 
  • Administrational duties, scanning and renaming documents. 
  • Supporting clients with behaviours
  • Work at site locations based in Freemans Reach and Richmond.  

The ideal candidates should have the following experience and attributes to be successful in this position:

  • Experience in aged care or disability is ideal.
  • Having a vested interest in disability is a must. 
  • You must be a Team Player. 
  • You will be required to obtain CPR, First Aid, WWCC, NDIS Screening Check and some internal training courses as part of your induction.
