Within the Disability Sector the topic of the NDIS is always one that draws out a lot of emotions. It is however pleasing to be able to report that whilst there is still scope for improvement within the scheme, significant improvements have occurred.
The introduction of an additional eight planners in the Hawkesbury/Nepean Area has been very positive, and has led to NDIS plans being reviewed and renewed on time, therefore removing the risk of client services being withdrawn due to a participant not holding a current plan. Furthermore, as the NDIS strengthens, the focus moves to ensuring all organisations across the sector meet verification/certification under the Quality and Safeguards commission. This is an incredibly important action to ensure high quality supports are provided to vulnerable people across the country.
